Prof. Dr. Stefan Rahmstorf

Stefan Rahmstorf is a climate scientist and heads the Earth System Analysis department at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). There he primarily researches the role of the oceans in climate change, for example the rise in sea levels. As a member of the Scientific Advisory Board on Global Change (WBGU), he advised the German government. He is also one of the lead authors of the 4th IPCC report, which in 2007 gave the climate debate a new dynamic.

Manuel Adamini
Conference Moderator

As an internationally recognised expert in climate finance, Manuel combines deep insight into climate-related (investment) risks and opportunities with a good overview of global and European politics. He is a frequent and versatile speaker and moderator at large conferences and smaller roundtable sessions, and has contributed to numerous international and Dutch publications.

Manuel works at a London-based not-for-profit organisation, recognised as a global climate finance thought leader. Before, he oversaw Dutch €55 billion asset manager ACTIAM’s responsible investment activities. He also served as an (alternate) member on the prestigious Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative’s (EITI) International Board, working against corruption in the oil, gas & mining sectors. Earlier in his career, Manuel worked with bank-assurance company Fortis, where he initiated a global climate strategy.

Claudia Bärdges-Koch
Head of Investor Relations & Client Acquisition, Münchener Hypothekenbank eG

Claudia is Head of Debt Investor Relations and Client Acquisition at Münchener Hypothekenbank eG in Munich. Her responsibilities include Debt Investor Relations, sustainable funding topics as well as tasks within the Treasury Team. She has joined MünchenerHyp in July 2008.

Claudia has started her professional career in the banking industry in 1999 when she turned her back on commodities business with base and precious metals. During her employments with WestLB, BayernLB and MünchenerHyp she has worked in Düsseldorf, London and Munich – always with a focus on Funding and Liquidity, Asset Liability Management and/or Investor Relations.

Johannes Böhm
ESG Analyst, Union Investment

Johannes Böhm joined the ESG department of Union Investment’s portfolio management in November 2018. He is responsible for bridging sustainable investment and ESG aspects with the fixed-income universe. More specifically, Johannes’ work among others strongly focuses on ESG Integration, Sovereign ESG Investing and Green/Social/Sustainability Bonds.

Uwe Jurkschat
Head of Funding & Investor Relations, Deutsche Kreditbank (DKB)

As Head of Funding & Investor Relations in the Treasury division, Uwe Jurkschat is responsible for the refinancing activities of Deutsche Kreditbank (DKB). Mr Jurkschat has more than 20 years of banking experience and has worked in various roles at Dresdner Bank and Landesbank Berlin in the capital markets business. At DKB's Treasury, Mr Jurkschat has played a key role in the development of the Green and Social Bond programmes since 2015 and has supported all of the bank's sustainable capital market transactions. DKB is an innovator in the sustainable bond segment and this year issued the first FIG Green Bond that complies with the current drafts of the EU GBS and the EU Taxonomy. Mr Jurkschat represents DKB in various national and international committees, including the ICMA Green and Social Bond Principles, whose further development DKB actively helps to shape and support.

Karoliina Kajova
Senior Funding Manager, Municipality Finance plc (MuniFin)

Karoliina Kajova works as a Senior Funding Manager at Municipality Finance plc (MuniFin), the Finnish local government funding agency. Karoliina joined MuniFin’s funding team in 2013. Karoliina works with MuniFin’s global wholesale funding focusing on both benchmark bond issuance including Green bonds and Social bonds as well as private placement issuance. Karoliina also takes part in managing investor relations.

Michael Kastl
Managing Director Treasury & Finance, Hapag-Lloyd AG

Michael Kastl was born on 18 August 1975 in Hamburg. He was appointed Managing Director Treasury & Finance at Hapag-Lloyd in 2015. In this current position he is responsible for Group Treasury, all Financing Activities, Liquidity and Financial Planning as well as all Cash Management Measures. He reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Michael Kastl began his career at Hapag-Lloyd in 1996 with an apprenticeship to become a shipping agent with integrated business studies. He then earned a degree in business administration at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg from 1999 to 2003, before rejoining Hapag-Lloyd as Manager Treasury. In the course of the sale of Hapag-Lloyd by TUI in 2008, a dedicated Treasury department was set up in the headquarters for which he took over the responsibility in 2009.

Since then, he has continuously developed his career at Hapag-Lloyd and has played a significant role in various corporate transactions such as the merger with two major shipping companies, namely CSAV (2014) and UASC (2017) and the company’s IPO in 2015 as well as several debt capital market transactions, most recently a Sustainability Linked Bond, which was the first in High Yield issued by a shipping company.

Friedrich Luithlen

Friedrich (“Fritz“) Luithlen is Head of Debt Capital Markets Origination and Syndication at DZ BANK. Before taking up his current role in late 2017, Fritz ran the private placement business of the bank, and acted as Head of Covered Bond Origination, promoting the Bank’s covered bond franchise with issuers across the globe.

In addition to his day-to-day markets activities, Fritz is also at the helm of a number of DZ Bank’s digitalisation projects that aim to streamline and indeed transform internal as well as client-facing processes in the primary debt market business.

Bodo Winkler-Viti
Head of Funding & Investor Relations, Berlin Hyp AG

Bodo is Head of Funding & Investor Relations at Berlin Hyp AG in Berlin and is responsible for the bank’s long term funding, its relations to investors and also to rating agencies. In addition he looks after Berlin Hyp’s activities in Green Bonds.


Before joining Berlin Hyp in 2010 he worked as a division manager at the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp) responsible for Pfandbrief and capital markets issues. Prior to joining the vdp in 2004 Bodo was an asset manager with Deutsche Kreditbank AG where he was in charge of the bank’s fixed income portfolio. After starting his career at GrundkreditBank, Berlin in 1994 he worked as a money market trader at Berliner Volksbank.

Marcus Pratsch
Head of Sustainable Bonds & Finance, DZ BANK

Marcus Pratsch is working in the banking industry since 1996 and has more than 15 years experience in SRI. He is currently working as Head of Sustainable Bonds & Finance at DZ BANK AG in Germany. Furthermore he is a member of the standing committee of the Green and Sustainable Finance Cluster Germany. From 2009 to the end of 2018 Marcus served as Head of Sustainable Investment Research at DZ BANK. He is the archtitect of DZ BANK's EESG analysis and rating methodology - a complex assessment and rating tool which goes beyond the classical ESG perspective by integrating the economic dimension of sustainability and hence allowing to link financial and sustainability performance. Furthermore he has successfully advanced the integration of sustainability criteria into the valuation process of various assets classes enabling the bank to extend its portfolio of sustainable products in Germany and abroad. Marcus graduated from the University of Mannheim.

Axel Wilhelm
Managing Director, imug | rating

Axel is managing the imug | rating business unit - which was spun off as imug rating GmbH at the beginning of 2021 - since July 2016. After studying economics, he gained his first professional experience at imug e. V. in Hanover. He was founder and long-standing managing director of the rating agency scoris, now Sustainalytics GmbH in Frankfurt, until 2011. Prior to his latest imug engagement, he worked for nearly five years in the portfolio management department at Concordia Versicherungen Hannover. 

Syed Yousuf Ali
Director General – Treasury and Portfolio Management, New Development Bank (NDB)

Syed Yousuf is Director General – Treasury and Portfolio Management and Treasurer of New Development Bank (NDB), a Multilateral Development Bank founded by the BRICS countries to support infrastructure and sustainable development in its member countries. As Treasurer of NDB he is responsible for Funding, Liquidity Management and Investment Portfolio of NDB.

Prior to joining NDB in 2020, Yousuf spent a decade at Axis Bank, India’s 3rd largest Private Bank and largest DCM house in India in various roles including Head of International DCM, Head of Fixed Income Investor Relations and in senior roles in institutional coverage. As Head of International DCM, he was instrumental in setting up the offshore fixed income and capital market franchise for Axis Bank, one of the first by an Indian Bank.

Prior to joining Axis Bank, he held senior roles in sales and trading at ING Vysya Bank, the Indian arm of Dutch financial service group ING and with IDBI Bank, the commercial bank arm of India’s largest development financial institution.
